Privacy policy

Last updated: August 17, 2026

Stagehand is an iOS app for organising volunteers at a church: the schedule, who is serving, the gear, and the procedures for a service. This policy covers the app and the backend it talks to.

Stagehand is an independent project. It is not affiliated with Lumin Arts Inc. or stagehand.app.

What we collect

Your account. Your name, email address, and password. Passwords are handled by Supabase Auth and are never visible to us or stored by the app.

Your profile in a workspace. Your name, your role, and — only if you enter one — a phone number.

What the workspace holds. The roster of people, the calendar of practices, rehearsals and services, who is assigned to which position, swap requests, gear and its checkout history and condition notes, and written procedures.

Photos you attach. If you add a photo to a procedure step or a piece of gear, that image is uploaded and stored with the workspace. This is why the app asks for camera and photo library permission.

Stagehand can also save a gear label to your photo library so you can print it. That is a one-way write to your own library — the app does not read, scan, or upload the rest of your photos.

Your device, if you allow notifications. An Apple push token, so alerts can reach your phone, and a short-lived record of the notifications queued for you.

Nothing else. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs beyond the Supabase client listed below.

How we use it

Only to run the workspace you joined — showing the schedule, staffing dates, tracking gear, and sending the notifications you turned on. We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or use it to build a profile of you.

People in the same workspace can see that workspace's roster and schedule. Admins can additionally see and manage roles and the invite code. You are never notified about your own actions.

Where it lives, and who else touches it

Accounts, workspace data, and uploaded photos are stored in the Stagehand project on Supabase, which hosts the database, authentication, and file storage on our behalf. Supabase acts as our data processor and does not use your data for its own purposes — see the Supabase privacy policy.

Push notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service. Apple receives the notification content in order to deliver it — see the Apple privacy policy.

A read-only copy of your workspace is cached on your phone so the app still works without a signal. It is deleted when you sign out or delete your account, and it is never sent anywhere else.

How long we keep it

Workspace data is kept for as long as the workspace exists. Queued notification records and their delivery history are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Deleting your account removes your account, your profile, and your device tokens, and removes you from every workspace you belong to. Content you created that belongs to the church — a scheduled date, a gear note — stays with that workspace, because other volunteers still depend on it. If you are the only admin and the only member, the workspace is deleted with you.

Your choices

Children

Stagehand is meant for volunteers organised by their church, and accounts are created by the person joining. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page is updated. Continuing to use the app after a change means the updated policy applies.
